Alright. So it's almost 1:oo PM here in London and I've already been around my part of the city a little bit today. While I slept about 10 hours, I'm still a little off and tired. Should sleep well tonight, even though I didn't sleep to particularly well last night.
Back to day 2!
While I'm trying to backtrack through my part of the city, I get lost and end up walking some 45 minutes out of my, only to get back on the tube and make my way back to my part of the city. Two for two, I thought, and I was frustrated again.
I met Whitney at 4:00 PM and she immediately saw how I had messed up. After she showed me that, I have a much better sense of direction through my part of the town and haven't got lost yet which is nice! She writes down a list of things that I need to do during my trip, and we head out to but me a phone since she knew where to get one.
We get off at ANGEL station, which is only 6 stops from where I am. We get me a phone, go to a local starbucks, sit down and relax for a second, and then head to Westminster. I will say though that having the phone is definitely a security blanket for me. I know that if I get into a jam I have a way to get out of that jam, or if I get lost I can call someone and figure out where the hell I am. That's nice.
So the trip to Westminster was AMAZING. Essentially the first thing that I saw coming out of the tube station was Big Ben. Holy freaking cow. You can see Big Ben from everywhere in Westminster. We then walked around and I got to see stuff like the Westminster Abbey, Parliament, the huge Eye wheel thing. There was a huge park in the middle of the square and there were people playing frisbee, flying kites (or attempting to), playing volleyball, having a picnic, doing all sorts of things like that. Parliament was awesome. Reminded me of V For Vendetta. Except it wasn't getting blown up.
So by this point I'm exhausted, and Whitney is meeting some of her friends out. So I get back on the tube, and make my way back to Archway station. So I call my family and then I call Amanda. Family answers and we make plans to talk on teamspeak although right now my teamspeak isn't picking up my voice. Amanda doesn't answer so I leave a voicemail and decide to call later. I start to write and then call it a day.
I have trouble sleeping, so I eventually fall asleep for good a little more than two hours after I initially tried to settle down. I was tired, nervous, and there was just a lot going through my mind as I tried to sleep. Eventually settled down and got about 10 hours of much needed sleep.
More to come later tonight.
